Precise combining of medium widths for obtaining maximum Band gap of one-dimensional photonic crystals by Precise Combination of Medium Widths

Abstract: In this paper, the transfer matrix method was used to study the band structure of one-dimensional photonic crystals. When the width of the medium layer was changed, the band gap changed accordingly. The numerical analyses show that through the combination of different widths of medium layers, continuous and larger band gaps can be gained. Using this method the ideal wave filtration effect can be obtained without altering the aggregate thickness of photonic crystal materials.
