Polaron Rashba Effect in a Triangular Quantum Well

Abstract:

Rashba effect on the properties of polaron in a triangular quantum well is investigated within LLP variational method and the expression of the polaron ground state energy is derived by us. Under the influence of the Rashba effect, we discuss the relations between the ground state energy with the wave vector, the electron areal density and the electron-phonon coupling strength, respectively. The results show that the ground state energy is an increasing function of the wave vector and the electron areal density. But it is a decreasing function of the electron-phonon coupling strength. Due to the Rashba effect, the ground state energy splits two branches.
