偏磁场可控平行载流导线冷原子分束器

Controllable cold atom beam splitter based on parallel current-carrying wires and bias magnetic field

摘要:

提出了一种采用平行载流导线的偏磁场可控的中性冷原子磁导引方案,计算了不同横向偏置磁场 情况下的横截面磁场分布,讨论了磁阱中心位置的变化,可以实现单通道或双通道可控磁导引。在此方案基础上,构建了一种利用纵向均匀偏置磁场 实现可控分束比的冷原子分束器方案,计算了横向磁阱的分布,给出了分束器的磁场等高面分布,并采用经典Monte-Carlo方法,模拟了冷原子在原子分束器中的动力学过程,得到了可调分束比的结果,验证了该方案的可行性。当纵向均匀偏置磁场 从- 0.005G增加到0.005G时,左右输出端的分束比从0.9/0.1变化到0.1/0.9。

Abstract:

A novel controllable cold neutral atom guiding scheme based on parallel current-carrying wires and bias magnetic field is proposed. Magnetic field distribution in cross-section at different transverse bias field is calculated. The centre of magnetic traps is discussed. Single-channel and double-channel magnetic guiding can be realized. Based on this scheme, an atom beam splitter, which has adjustable splitting ratio, is designed by adding a longitudinal magnetic bias field . The transverse distribution of magnetic trap is calculated, and the magnetic contour plane of the splitter is shown. By using the classical Monte-Carlo method, the splitting process is simulated, and this scheme is validated by the simulation results. Splitting ratio between left guide and right guide changes from 0.9/0.1 to 0.1/0.9 when longitudinal magnetic bias field changes from -0.005G to 0.005G.
