The electron transport property in T-shape structure with Aharonov-Bohm rings

Abstract:

Based on one-dimensional quantum waveguide theory for mesoscopic structures, the electron transport properties in T-shape structure with Aharonov-Bohm rings are investigated. In the case of ensuring the continuity of the wavefunction and the closing of the current at an intersection, we derive the analytic expression of the transmission coefficient and analyse the transmission properties.It is found that the transmission coefficient of the both sides shows typical AB oscillations with the change of magnetic flux. Altering the incident point of electron, the value of the left transmission coefficient also change, the right transmission coefficient appears total reflection phenomenon which has nothing to do with magnetic flux, but for in the vicinity of values . The location of the incident point cause periodic modulation to the transmission coefficient. Minor deviation from the structure of the system have little effect on transport properties.
