Transmission spectra of one-dimensional photonic crystal quantum well with double negative medium

Abstract:

Using transfer matrix method to research the transmission spectra of one-dimensional photonic crystal (AB)m(BACAB)n(BA)m. Research findings were that in the case of double positive medium and double negative medium ,all the bands of photonic crystal (BACAB)n were situated in the band gaps of photonic crystal (AB)m(BA)m to constitute the structure of photonic quantum with the symmetric central frequency 1.0ω0/ω.The transmission spectra of photonic quantum appears the symmetric local resonance transmission peak and shows obvious spectra quantization effects; the numbers and positions of transmission peak can be adjusting controlled by n,and the structures of the transmission spectra of double positive medium and double negative medium are same; but the bandwidth and clearance of the latter is longer. This characteristic can be used to design adjustable multi-channel filters, optical switches and so on.
