Abstract: Laser active illumination imaging has the advantages of long range detection, high resolution, obtaining the target image with low illumination background. However, the image is disturbed by speckle noise. In order to reduce the noise, Gaussian filtering, mean filtering and adaptive filtering methods, are applied to the simulation experiment, respectively. The comparison experiment shows that the adaptive filtering not only can effectively inhibit the image noise, but also can keep the details of the image. Multi-short-exposure cumulative average method is applied to the obtained images to reduce speckle noise and Speckle Contrast Ratio is used to quantitative analysis of the results. It is verified that the multi-short-exposure cumulative average method can effectively suppress the speckle noise. At the same time, the adaptive filtering method can further reduce the image speckle noise.
