An Algorithm of Improving Brightness Uniformity on LED Display

摘要: LED显示屏作为一种应用广泛的显示终端,其亮度均匀性对显示效果有着重要影响。该文在基于显示屏控制技术与校正原理的基础上,介绍了一种改善LED显示屏亮度均匀性的算法。该算法通过CCD相机采集显示屏RGB三色图像,然后使用数学形态学和模板匹配法确定灯点的位置并根据发光区域的灰度值计算其相对亮度,最后生成每个灯点的校正参数并使用脉冲宽度调制的方法控制灯点的亮度。实验结果表明,该算法能够有效地改善显示屏的亮度均匀性,从而提高显示屏的显示质量并延长显示屏的使用寿命。

Abstract: As a widely used terminal display, the luminance uniformity of LED display is an important factor for display quality. An algorithm of improving brightness uniformity on LED display is introduced based on the principle of display control and correction in this paper. The CCD (Charge-coupled Device) camera is used to grab the RGB images of display screen. The position of LED light is determined by using mathematical morphology and template matching. And then calculate the relative brightness of the light spot according grayscale value of light emitting region. Finally, generate the correction parameters of each light point and use pulse width modulation to control the brightness of light points. Experimental results show that this algorithm can improve the brightness uniformity on LED display effectively, thereby improving the quality of the display and increasing the life time of the display.
