Generation of millimeter wave using single-longitudinal-mode dual-wavelength fiber laser with equilibrium output

摘要: 报道了一种可用于生成毫米波源的单纵模双波长光纤激光器。该激光器采用保偏光纤布拉格光栅作为波长选择器件,其选出的两个波长是正交偏振态的,增强了偏振烧孔效应,有效的减少了不同波长之间的竞争,得到稳定的双波长输出。利用复合腔的游标效应抑制多模振荡,实现激光器单纵模运转。双波长间隔约0.318nm(39.8 GHz),边模抑制比(SMSR)大于50dB

Abstract: A single-longitudinal-mode dual-wavelength fiber laser can be used to generate millimeter waves is presented. Polarization-maintaining fiber Bragg grating (PM-FBG) is used as wavelength selected component in this laser. Two wavelength of PM-FBG is orthogonal polarization states, enhance the polarization hole burning effect and effectively reduce the different wavelength competition and achieve stable dual-wavelength output. The Vernier effect of the compound cavity, effectively suppress multi-modes oscillations and realize single-longitudinal-mode operation. The separation of two wavelength is 0.318nm (39.8 GHz) and SMSR is more than 50dB.
